美術館をまわる１日を始める前に、美味しいコーヒーとアーモンドクロワッサンを朝食に。

サンフランシスコにきたら、飲んでみて欲しいコーヒーがたくさんあります。 その中でも、「サイトグラス　コーヒー」が新しく改装されたSFMoMAの館内にあります。 おすすめは、アイスコーヒー・アーモンドミルク。

最近では、たくさんの店舗がサンフランシスコの街にあるので簡単に見つけることができるかも。

お店のインテリアや床タイルのデザインも店舗によって違うので、チェックしてみてください◎ 私のお気に入りは、ミッションの小さな店舗とディビサデロストリートの店舗です。

（ちなみに、コーヒー豆はWhole FoodsやBiRiteで買うとお得だったりします。）

店内では、陶器工房「Atelier Dion（アトリエディオン）」さんのマグでコーヒーが楽しめるかも。 ディオンさんの作品は、コーヒー文化の新しい波“サードウェーブ”の「Four Barrel Coffee」「Sightglass Coffee」「The Mill」 を始め、地域のさまざまなレストランやカフェで利用されています。 サンフランシスコには、ローカルのアーティストを尊重する文化があります。ベイエリアのレストランやカフェでは、地元のインテリアデザイナーやアーティストの作品を使ってることがよくあるので 「素敵だな」と思ったら、お店の人に聞いてみるといいかもしれません。もしかしたら、お家で使う食器になるかも。

Before you start your day at the museum, have some delicious coffee and almond croissants for breakfast! If you come to San Francisco, there are many cafés that you should try. Among them, “Sightglass Coffee” is located inside the newly renovated SFMoMA. I recommend their iced coffee with almond milk.

Nowadays, they have many stores in San Francisco, so it should be easy to find.

The interior of the shop and the design of the floor tiles differ depending on the shop and are hand-picked for each location. My favorites are the small Mission store and the divisadero street store.

(By the way, their coffee beans can be purchased for a good deal at Whole Foods and BiRite.)

In the shop, you may enjoy coffee from mugs designed by Atelier Dion. The works of Mr. and Mrs. Dion are used in various restaurants and cafes in the region, including “Four Barrel Coffee”, “Sightglass Coffee”, and “The Mill”. San Francisco has a culture that respects local artists. Bay area restaurants and cafes often use the work of local interior designers and artists. If you think it’s nice, you should ask the person working at the store. It’s possible that they can tell you were you can buy your own set.

近現代美術館、サンフランシスコ近代美術館

既存するスイスの建築家マリオ・ボッタ氏の建物と融合する形で北欧の建築家スノヘッタ氏によって新たに増改築されました。 マリオボッタは、特有のシンメトリックな美学で有名である。特にスカイ・アイと言われる白くのゼブラ模様の空間は、美術館に自然光のトップライトの役割をしています。（新設されても、ボッタの空間はしっかりと残っています。）

新館は、白を基調とし、天井の高い新館はリビング・ウォールがあったり外への空間が増えた印象です。 美術館は、20世紀のモダンアートや写真を中心に、ヨーロッパの絵画や彫刻が展示されています。 作品の中には、マティス、ピカソ、フリーダ・カーロ、ジャクソン・ポロック、マルセル・デュシャン、ゲルハルトリヒターなど現代美術の巨匠の作品が多数並んでいます。

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art This is a newly refurbished museum by Scandinavian architect Snohetta who merged his work with the existing structure by Swiss architect Mario Botta. Mario Botta is famous for his unique symmetric aesthetics. In particular, the white zebra-shaped space called the sky eye acts as a natural light from the top of the museum.

Designed on a white canvas, the new building has a high ceiling and new outdoor space including a living wall. Western paintings and sculptures are mostly on display, from the 20th century and up. In the collection are numerous works by contemporary masters such as Matisse, Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Jackson Pollock, Marcel Duchamp, and Gerhard Richter.

ユダヤ現代美術館の横に位置する、ジューイッシュの伝統料理。ミッション地区には、レストランがあって朝になると店内は人でいっぱい。 ジューイッシュ料理で一番有名なのは、「LOX」スモークサーモンのベーグルです。（それも美味しんだけど…） 私のお気に入りは、ダウンタウンスペシャル。ハーフサイズのHot Pastramiのサンドイッチにポテトサラダのサイド。（もう一度言うね、ポテトサラダをサイドにしないと後悔するよ！笑）そして、マッツォボールのスープがついてきます。 （ダイナーのようなコーヒーが好きな人はコーヒーも是非頼んでみて欲しい。私は大好き。） ぱぱっと食べて、次の美術館へ！

Traditional Jewish cuisine next to the Jewish Museum of Contemporary Art. There is a restaurant in the Mission area too. The most famous Jewish dish is the “LOX” smoked salmon bagel. My favorite dish is the Downtown Special: Half-sized Hot Pastrami sandwich with potato salad side. (I’ll say it again, I’ll regret it if I don’t put the potato salad on the side! Haha) Also the Matzo ball soup is great. If you like diner-style coffee, please ask for coffee too. I love their coffee). Nosh on something here then head to the next museum!

ユダヤ現代美術館は、電気発電所をダニエル・リベスキンド氏がデザインしました。 とても小さい美術館ですが、この菱形の窓や傾いたようなデザインの建築は面白いので必見です。

The Jewish Museum of Contemporary Art was designed by Daniel Libeskind, in the former electric plant. It’s a very small museum, but the diamond-shaped windows and the slanted design of the architecture is interesting to look at.

世界的な有名建築、ヘルツォーク＆ド・ムーロンによってリニューアルされた美術館です。 銅のようなマテリアルで雨によって錆びた色も歴史を刻んでいるようで、美しいです。

デヤング美術館は、アフリカ、オセアニア、アメリカの美術の美術品を中心に幅広く収蔵しています。サンフランシスコを展望できるデッキもあるので、美術作品だけでなく有意義な時間を過ごすことができます。 ガーデンには、ジェームズ タレルのインスターレーションがあり、外の見学はチケットが不要なので時間がない時は、建築と外の収蔵作品を見るだけでも楽しめます。

Art museum renovated by the world famous architectural firm, Herzog & de Meuron. It has a distinctive rust-color that is very beautiful.

The DeYoung Museum has a wide collection of works of art from Africa, Oceania and America. There is also an observation deck with a view of San Francisco. The outdoor sculpture garden has a James Turrell installation, which does not have an admission fee.

2000年に開館したロンドンの「テートモダン」で国際的に知られることになった建築家です。 アイ・ウェイウェイとのコラボレーションをした、「北京五輪スタジアム」や青山にあるプラダを見たことある方もいるかと思います。

This firm became known internationally for the Tate Modern in London, which opened in 2000. Also known for the Beijing Olympic Stadium in collaboration with Ai Weiwei, and the Prada store in Aoyama.

ゴールデンゲートパーク内にある博物館です。建築は、イタリア出身の世界的建築家　レンゾ・ピアノが再建を手がけました。 カリフォルニア科学アカデミーは、太陽光発電のパネルが装備された、リビングルーフをはじめ、環境にやさしい建築として有名です。博物館を楽しみながら建築も十分に楽しめます。 剥製や化石だけではなく、本当に生きているホワイトクロコダイルを見ることができたり、熱帯雨林ゾーンの蝶々やプラネタリウムがあります。

This natural history museum is in the center of Golden Gate Park. It is designed by world famous Italian architect, Renzo Piano. It is reknowned for its eco-friendly architecture, including a “living roof” (rooftop garden) and solar panels. The museum and its architecture can be both enjoyed in equal measure.

In additon to taxidermy and fossil displays, the museum has an incredible rainforest biodome and a breathtaking aquarium.

また最近では、ニューヨークのホイットニー美術館などがあります。白を基調とした建物で、外からだとわかりにくいのですが、ガラス張りの開放的な空間です。

He also designed the Whitney Museum in NYC. The building appears to be white from the outside but from the inside you realize it is covered in glass.

ゴールデンゲートパーク近くのおすすめは、アジア料理です。ドライフライドチキンとジャージャー麺を頼んでみてください。 サンフランシスコで人気すぎて行列ができない時はありません。１、２時間の待ち時間は覚悟してください！ このエリアは、中華街ではないのですが中華街よりも本格的なエリアです。

This is a recommendation if you are hungry and near Golden Gate Park. Try the Dry Fried Chicken and Dry Black Bean Noodles. Because of this place’s famous delicousness, a huge line may form, one of the consistently largest in San Francisco. Please be prepared to wait for 1 to 2 hours! This area of SF (the Sunset District) is more authentic than Chinatown.

今回おすすめしたいのは、本店ではなく二号店のベーカリー兼レストラン「Tartine Manufactory（タルティーン・マニュファクトリー）」です。 ランチやディナーも楽しめる上に、バーカウンターもあるのでどの時間に行っても間違いなしです。その季節ごとに変わる食材を活かしたメニュー、もちろん本店でも並ぶケーキやパンも注文できます。 おすすめは、オープンサンド。レシピ本になるほどの人気メニューカントリーブレッドの上に様々な食材がのせていただきます。私のおすすめは、きのこか牛肉のタルタル。

その上、店内で食事をすると、「Heath Ceramics（ヒースセラミックス）」の食器で食事が楽しめるのです。実は、ヒースセラミックスの店舗とレストランが繋がっているので その場で気にったお皿やマグカップがすぐに購入できるのです！（幸せすぎる）

お会計と一緒にサワードウのブレッドのお持ち帰りをすれば、紙袋にどさっと大きなパンを持ってきてくれます。 最近では、ターティーンブランドのコーヒー豆も出しているので、明日の朝ごはんは自分でオープンサンドイッチとコーヒーを作ってみれますね。 至福の時間になること間違いなしです。

2002年にサンフランシスコのミッション地区に開業したタルティーンは、天然酵母を使ったサワードウやモーニングバン、アメリカでは珍しい甘さ控えめのケーキなどがあります。 本店はいつも長蛇の列ですが、早朝早くに行くとコーヒーとペイストリーが楽しめるかもしれません。（本店は、席の数が少ない＋とても狭いのです。）

Opened in the Mission District of San Francisco in 2002, Tartine is known for their sourdough bread and morning buns made from natural yeast, as well as cakes with a mild sweetness that is rare in the United States. The main bakery on Guerrerro always has a long line, but if you go early in the morning you may be able to enjoy coffee and pastries there. (The bakery has a small number of seats and is very small.)

I would like to recommend “Tartine Manufactory”, which is an expanded second location and restaurant, not the main bakery. You can enjoy lunch and dinner there, and there is also a bar counter so you can go at any time, no reservation necessary. You can also order the cakes and breads that people line up for at the main bakery, as well as a menu that uses ingredients that change with the season. Recommendation is open san. A variety of ingredients will be placed on Country Bread, which is a popular menu that makes it a recipe book. My recommendation is mushroom or beef tartare.

What’s more, when you dine at Tartine Manufactory, you can enjoy your meal with “Heath Ceramics” tableware. Actually, because the Heath Ceramics store is connected to the restaurant, You can immediately buy the plates and mugs you use if you like them.

Order some bread to take home with you after your meal. They also sell Tartine brand coffee beans, so you can try making your own open sandwich and coffee tomorrow morning. It will surely be a blissful time.

ミッション地区にあるヒースセラミックスのお店と工場です。イオワ州出身の女性陶芸家イーディス・ヒース氏が、夫のブライアン・ヒース氏とともに1948年に立ち上げた陶器屋さんです。 元々、ゴールデンゲートブリッジを渡ったすぐにあるサウサリートという地域でしかお店がありませんでした。（年末になるとサウサリートのお店のみでセールがあります！） サンフランシスコの多くのレストランがヒースのお皿を使っていたりするので、旅をしながらヒースのお皿を試すことができるかもしれません。

Heath Ceramics is a shop and factory in the Mission area. Edith Heath, a female potter from Iowa, founded the pottery shop in 1948 with her husband, Brian Heath. Originally, they were only based out of Sausalito in North Bay, just across the Golden Gate Bridge. (Only the Sausilito Headquarters ever has a sale––and only once a year).

Many San Francisco restaurants use heath plates, so you may notice them while traveling.

If you like to paint watercolors, I recommend this shop. Tartine Manufactory has a long waiting time, so you can visit this shop to kill time. It is very small, but the curated materials such as pens and sketchbooks are very fashionable.

1992年から描き続けている、クラリオン・アリー・ストリート・アート。 ミッション地区（ミッションとバレンシアストリートの間）にある、ストリートアートです。もともとある壁画にディテールが加わったり、一定の期間で新しいペイントもされます。 歴史や政治によって、メッセージが変わることが私にとって何度も見にいく理由です。アートを通して、文化を理解するきっかけになったりします。 クラリオン アリーだけでなくミッション地区には、たくさんの壁画があるので散歩をしながら楽しんでみてください。

This famous alley in the Mission has be covered in murals since 1992. Between Mission and Valencia Ave, it is often updated with new art. Experiencing local art like this is a good way to learn about the culture.

The Mission district has many murals and street art, which is worth visiting for sure.

サンフランシスコにある昔ながらの映画館のひとつ。ロキシー。 今でも、新しい映画からインディー映画まで放映されます。昔のまま残っているのは外観だけでなく、館内に入るとタイムスリップしたような気分になります。 年間パスもあります◎　日本のアニメや最近では草間彌生氏のドキュメンタリー映画『草間彌生∞INFINITY』を上映したりもするので、よくチェックして観にいきます。

Old-fashioned indepenent cinema. Even today, new films and indie films are being screened. It’s not just the exterior that remains as it used to be, but it feels like you’ve slipped in time when you enter the hall. They have an annual membership. They often screen Japanese animation and recently screened Yayoi Kusama’s documentary film “Yayoi Kusama ∞ INFINITY”.

グレーエリアは、ミッション地区の古い映画館を改装してテクノロジーとアートのワークショップや音楽イベントが開催される場所です。 年間を通してクリエイティブなプログラミングを講義してくれるプログラムもあり、セッションの終わりにはグレーエリアで展示する機会が与えられます。 VJとDJが集まって、不定期にイベントが開催されているので予定をチェックしてみてください！これこそ、サンフランシスコっぽくて滞在中に一度体験してみて欲しいです。

The Gray Area is a refurbished old cinema in the Mission District that hosts technology and art workshops and music events. Some programs offer creative programming lectures throughout the year, with an opportunity to exhibit in the gray area gallery space at the end of the session. VJs and DJs are gathering together to hold irregular events, so please check the schedule! This is a very San Francisco thing and I would recommend visiting for an authentic experience.

ヘイズバレーにあるミシュランスターレストランのリッチテーブルから独立したシェフのお店です。（リッチテーブルも特別な日に行きたいレストランですね） アジアとのフュージョンがとても上手で、いくらやホタテを使った料理は味だけでなくとても美しく盛り付けされています。

絶対に食べたいのが雲丹カルボナーラ。そしてなんと言っても、Parker House Rollsとバターが美味しいのです。

This restaurant was opened by an alumnus of Michelin Star Rich Table in Hayes Valley. (Rich table is another restaraunt to dine at on a special day) There is some Asian influence on his dishes, and all the dishes are very beautifully presented.

My top recommendation is the sea urchin carbonara, but everything is good. (Even the dinner rolls and house-churned butter were delicious). The inside of the store has a surprisingly casual feel, so no need to dress up. It’s quite popular so reservations will need to be made months in advance.

主に、食器や洋服、家具、ジュエリーが多いですが、地元のフードトラックが外に並んだり新しいコーヒー屋さんがコーヒー豆を売っていたりします。 週末の朝早めに来ると、フォートメイソンが主催するファーマーズマーケットを同じ日に楽しむことができます。

Fort Mason is an big warehouse that hosts many artistic events. In particular I visit frequently when they host craft fairs. My recommended fairs to attend are:

Many crafters have shops and factories outside San Francisco, and I’m always looking forward to seeing their products here, since they are often difficult to get ahold of elsewhere. Especially at West Coast Craft, it’s great to discover new artists from places such as Los Angeles and Portland. Sometimes famous people sell their products here, and it’s a better experience than shopping online. The fairs host mostly art, beauty supplies, tableware, clothes, furniture and jewelry, but local food trucks also line up outside, as well as coffee. Early in the morning on weekends, you can enjoy the Farmers Market hosted by Fort Mason on the same day, right outside.

ドイツ料理のレストラン。ビールやエルダーフラワーのカクテルにソーセージとピクルスがおすすめです。 時間後ことにメニューが変わるので、お昼やディナーのチャンスを逃すと食べれないメニューもあるのでお気をつけて！

クラフトフェアーは、フードトラックやスナックが館内で購入できたりするのですが、ガッツリ食べたい時は絶対ここにきます。ご飯もお酒も◎

German restaurant. Sausage and pickles are recommended as a pairing for beer and thier famous elderflower cocktail. The menu changes during the day, so if you miss the opportunity for lunch or dinner, some items might not be available so be careful!

It is next to Fort Mason, which often has events such as craft fairs. There are food trucks nearby and snacks in the hall, but if you want to have a larger meal, I’d definitely come here.

サンフランシスコ　アジア美術館は、西アジア・南アジア・東南アジア・ヒマラヤ・中国・朝鮮半島・日本の作品を所蔵しています。

館内には、新しく”Sunday”というカフェができました。ココナッツカレー、とんかつ、The Boba Guysのタピオカドリンクなど各国のアジア料理をカジュアルに楽しむことができます。

The Asian Art Museum houses work from the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, China, Korea, and Japan.

Inside the museum is a charming café called “Sunday at the Museum” where you can enjoy Asian food from around the world. This includes coconut curry, pork cutlet, and tapioca drinks by Boba Guys.

１９７０年、イタリアの著名構造家：ピエール・ルイジ・ネルヴィが建設しました。 彼のジオメトリックな特徴のある建築物は今でも街の中でとても目立っています。 コンクリートのとてもシンプルな色の外観にも関わらず、教会の中は十字の形の交差する窓から降り注ぐ光がとても美しいのです。 中央に配置されたスタンドグラスと昼間の光と合わさって、冷たいコンクリートの壁とが不思議に調和されています。

It was built in 1970 by the well-known Italian architect, Pierre Luigi Nervi. His geometric architecture is an icon of the city. Despite the very plain appearance of concrete, the light that shines through the cross-shaped windows of the church is very beautiful. The centrally placed stained glass and daylight combine to create a mysterious blend of color against the walls.

ゴールデンゲートパーク内にある温室は、低地熱帯植物、盆栽、高地熱帯植物、水辺の植物、特別展示室があります。 季節によっては、プロジェクトマッピングなどのイベントもあるのでチェックしてみてください。

サンフランシスコと温室の気温差が激しいので服装には要注意を◎

The greenhouse in Golden Gate Park is home to lowland tropical plants, bonsai, highland tropical plants, waterside plants and a special exhibition room. Depending on the season, there are events such as projection mapping/installations, so please check it out.

The greenhouse is significantly warmer than outside so make sure to dress appropriately - layers you can shed!

丘の上の上にある美術館。 紀元前2500年から20世紀にまたがる絵画や彫刻など約12万4000点以上を所蔵する コレクションは、古代ギリシアやローマ、エジプトの美術作品も所蔵しています。 そのほかの展示 レンブラント、マティス、ルノアール、ドガ、モネなど、ヨーロピアンアートを代表する芸術家の作品も多数所蔵されています。

ゴールデンゲートブリッジにとても近いので天気が良ければ丘の上から眺めることができます。

This art museum has more than 124,000 paintings and sculptures spanning from 2500 BC to the 20th century. The collection houses works of ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian art. Rembrandt, Matisse, Renoir, Degas, and Monet, and many others are also housed.

It’s so close to the Golden Gate Bridge that you can see from the top of the hill if the weather is nice.

フェリービルディングの朝のファーマーズマーケットは、火曜日・木曜日・土曜日です。 火曜日と木曜日は、小さな規模ですが土曜日とは違ったレストランやコーヒーが出ています。

ライトブルーの時計台のランドマークのフェリービルディングは、とても歴史的な建物です。今でもなおフェリー乗り場になっており、最近では館内にレストランやカフェがたくさん入っているのでお土産探しにもおすすめです。 ブルーボトルコーヒーやフォグアイランドオイスター（特に、クラムチャウダーや牡蠣をカクテルと一緒に楽しめるのでピア４９で食べずにここで！）、ハンフリー・スロコム（アイス屋さん）がおすすめです。

The Ferry Building has a farmer’s market every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with different businesses appearing on different days.

This is a historic building, and one of the most famous landmarks in SF. It is an operating ferry terminal (with trips to Marin and Oakland) and a recommended place to buy souvenirs.

Blue Bottle Coffee, Hog Island Oysters (especially here you can enjoy clam chowder and oysters with a cocktail, (don’t eat at Pier 49!) and Humphrey Slocomb ice cream are recommended.

MayaやMaxなどの３Dソフトウェアで有名なAutodeskのワークスペースがあります。アーティスト・イン・レジデンスのプログラムもあり、３Dプリンティング、金属から木工、繊維の加工機具が並んでいます。 実は、毎日ワークスペースの見学ができるわけではないので要注意。オープンオフィスの日が年に数回あります。（San Francisco design weekは、毎年開けているので予約してみてください◎） アートとサイエンスがこのようなオープンスペースで実験できる空間を作れるのは、夢があります。

Autodesk (the company most famous for the 3D software Maya and Max) has a studio workshop on this pier. They run an artist-in-residence program involving wood and metalworking, textile, and 3D printing. The pier is not open to visitors every day, so make sure to visit when it is open. A reservation is required during SF Design Week. It’s a wonderful space where art and science is combined and experimented with.

The Exploratorium is an interactive science museum. I recommend visiting their “after dark” event every Thursday night! Unfortunately, the nightlife is open only to 21 and up, since they serve drinks and cocktails. It is a lot of fun to go and listen to the art and science lectures.

The “Circle Gallery” spiral staircase is said to have been a prototype for New York’s Guggenheim Museum, which was built 20 years later. Designed by the illustrious Frank Lloyd Wright. The tenents of the building change rapidly, and there were many times when I couldn’t go inside, so be careful!. Currently (in 2020) the building is occupied by ISAIA, a high end clothing store.

The Kaufman House in Milan, PA is a famous example of his work, and it is said that he used Japanese aesthetics as an inspiration for his work (He was also a collector of Ukiyo-e). The concept of “eliminating wasteful things” incorporates Japanese-style house and space design, such as minimalism, negative space, and harmony with nature. It’s no surprise he designed the former Imperial Hotel in Japan, and so on.

If you are truly interested in Frank Lloyd Wright, I recommend visiting Chicago, particularly the suburb of Oak Park. As his hometown, it has retained many of his early works, in total around 25 historical buildings.

The Marin County Courthouse in California has facilities such as a courthouse, courthouse, library, post office, and parking lot. Famous for being used as a building in the movie “Gattaca”, the building was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It’s located in San Rafael, not in San Francisco, so it’s a bit far away, but if you like architecture, I recommend going there. The way the light enters it is very beautiful and you can feel a “harmony with nature”.

シーランチは、サンフランシスコから約160キロ（車で3時間ほど）の場所にあります。 少し遠出になるのですが、建築が好きならどうしても２、３日滞在していただきたい場所です。 太平洋に向かって崖地に立つ木造の建築が自然に溶け込んで、とても美しいです。 レッドウッドを呼ばれる杉の木が基盤となっている家々は、、チャールズ・ムーアなど4人の建築家チームMLTWとデザイナーによって設計されました。 自然との調和を目的としたシーランチ。１９７０年代としては、自然環境や環境問題を考え建てらることは、とても珍しい試みでした。 海に沿ってハイキング・トレイルがあり、コーヒーのマグを持ったまま気軽にお散歩もできます。

サンフランシスコよりも気候の変化が激しく、すぐに霧がかかり冷たい風が吹き始めることも。 霧がかかった海辺を眺めることができるのも魅力のひとつです。

Sea Ranch is located about 160 kilometers (about 3 hours by car) from San Francisco. It’s a little out of the way, but if you like architecture, this is a place you should definitely stay for a few days. The wooden structures standing on the cliff towards the Pacific Ocean blends in naturally and is very beautiful. Houses based on Redwood and ceder were designed by a team of four architects including Charles Moore and the designers MLTW. Sea Ranch aims at harmony with nature. In the 1970s, it was a very unique attempt to build a natural environment and environmental problems. There are hiking trails along the sea, and you can easily take a walk from your back porch, coffee mug in hand.

The climate changes more drastically than in San Francisco, and it can get cold and foggy almost daily. One of the attractions is that you can see the misty seaside.

Ethiopian cuisine in Oakland. Try their Ethiopian Vegetarian Combo! I recommend ordering as a group as the meal is big, and eaten communally. The staple foods are a spongy fermented crepe called Inerja, and stewed meast and vegetables, rolled up and eaten with hands. It’s very rare cuisine in Japan, so please try it here while you can.

This is a chicken and waffle shop in Jack London Square area. The shop is crowded with locals and has a traditional diner-like atmosphere. It’s right next to the ferry terminal so if you feel a little hungry after enjoying Oakland, you can grab a bite before your ride back to SF. Since you have two options to get to Oakland from SF (Bart and Ferry) it might be fun to use different modes of transportation to go and come back.

BLM street art first started in Washington, D.C. (in front of the White House), followed by New York, Seattle and Oakland. Then, on June 12, 2020, a BLM street mural was painted in San Francisco. Behind the letters written on Fulton Street between Webster and Octavia streets, you can see the City Hall.

In San Francisco, many shops are closed due to COVID-19 and there are boards on the windows to prevent looting. What’s really “San Francisco” is that these boards are covered in street art. #BlackLivesMatter The “Black Lives Matter” movement and protests increased, and BLM-related art also increased in the city. Every artist has poured their soul into their work, sending the message loud and clear.

ここは、お気に入りの場所すぎて本当は教えたくないほどの穴場です。観葉植物の購入は、絶対にここがおすすめです！今までいくつも購入しましたが、何一つ枯れません。 カストロやドックパッチにも人気な園芸専門店はあるんですが、外で販売しているものが多く購入して家に置いておくとすぐ枯れてしまうんです。 オーナーのMichelle Reedさんがとてもいい人で、本当に家に入ってくる日光で植物が育つのか不安な人は親身になって教えてくれます。 どうしても欲しい植物があっても、家の環境が合わないかもと思ったら「買っちゃダメ！」と言ってくれる優しさ笑 植物の入れ替えも心配な人は、いつでもお店に持っていくと手伝ってくれます。

This nursery is a hidden gem and my favorite in the whole city. This is my number one recommended place to buy ornamental plants! I have purchased many of them until now and am proud to report that they are all very alive and healthy, years later! Michelle Reed, the owner, is a very nice person. When I bought my fig tree, she wanted to make sure it would survive in my living room’s lighting conditions, so she lent me a smaller one for free to see how it was in two weeks. Then I swapped it for the bigger tree!

A hidden bowling alley and bar in the Mission District. Since this is a bar/restaurant, you can enjoy food and drinks while bowling. There are only 5 lanes in the whole building so it can get crowded. It’s a good idea to call ahead before going.
