駅から１５分ほど歩くので時間に余裕を。住宅街を抜けて、その静かな空間と門を目の前に心がすっと落ち着きます。予約は必須で、朝ごはん「朝茶」がおすすめです。 料理に使われているお皿にも、こだわりを感じます。店内のインテリアもシンプルな空間の中でも美しく、お庭や花からもインスピレーションをもらえる空間です。 建築は、SIMPLICITYの緒方慎一郎氏、HIGASHIYA GINZAも手掛けています。設計から照明までデザインされており、その空間で食事をするとその一つひとつのこだわりを感じます。 「目に触れるものすべてを自らデザインする」素敵な言葉だと思います。

It’s about a 15-minute walk from the station. Reservations are required, and breakfast “morning tea” is recommended. The interior of the store is simple but beautiful, and the garden and flowers are inspiring. The architecture is also handled by Shinichiro Ogata of SIMPLICITY and HIGASHIYA GINZA. I think that the theme is “intentional design everywhere you look.”

実は東京にいるからこそ、アートネイルを堪能して頂きたいです。AOWEDは、恵比寿と代官山に２店舗あります。 大事な日の為のネイルなら、その場所の雰囲気や着る服のイメージから表現して頂けます。（事前に写真などを送ってデザインのイメージを考えておいて頂けます。） コンセプトとイメージに沿って使う素材はネイル用の既成パーツに捉われておらず、インクや色鉛筆を使う独特な作り方に施術中も目が離せません。仕上がりが美しく、とても長持ちします。 アーティストさんによって、全く違ったアートネイルをして頂けるのも魅力のひとつです。

When visiting Tokyo, nail art are always worth a visit. AOWED has two stores, one in Ebisu and one in Daikanyama. If you have a special day in mind (such as a wedding or anniversary), you can customize your nail art to fit the theme and outfit you are planning to wear. (You can even send a photo in advance to kickstart the artist’s ideation.) The finished product is beautiful and lasts a long time. The style of art also changes depending on the artist, of course.

地図と地層をイメージしたデザインに金継ぎのアクセント入れて頂けたり、料理とお皿をインスピレーションに無花果のネイルなど制作している方もいらっしゃいます。私の桜餅カラーというオーダーにも答えていただける素晴らしいネイリストさん達です。

One of my manicurist dida “kintsugi” pattern with rippling shapes similar to elevation rings on a map. Another did a color and texture motif that evokes sakura-mochi and spring colors.

設計は、黒川紀章氏。国立新美術館は、生前に完成した最後の美術館です。 「森の中の美術館」をコンセプトに設計された建物の正面は、ガラス一面の設計になっており曲線を描いています。 美術館と建築が好きなら、建物に入り込む光が綺麗な時間に来て欲しいです。

「新」のロゴは、佐藤可士和氏がデザインされました。 一階と地下には、ストアがあり多くの作家さんたちの作品がフィーチャーされているので是非楽しんで欲しいです。

Designed by Kisho Kurokawa. This was the last museum completed during his lifetime. The front of the building, which was designed with the concept of “Museum in the Forest”, uses a single glass surface and draws a curve. If you like museums and architecture, it’s worth a visit for how natural light enters the building.

The new logo was designed by Kashiwa Sato.

Pronounced “Two-One Two-One” Architecture by Ando Tadao, inspired by Issey Miyake’s clothing design. The roof looks like a folding plate. Depending on the schedule, various talk event snad workshops are held here too. A magnificent space with bright natural light and cool concrete surfaces. Its function is largely focused on Japanese design. Admission: General 1,200 yen, college students 800 yen, high school students 500 yen, junior high school students and younger free.

設計は、ニューヨークのホイットニー美術館や、ベルリンのグッゲンハイム美術館等を設計した、リチャード・グラックマン(Richard Gluckman)です。 現代美術を中心に展示をしていますが、ファッションから最先端のインスタレーションの展示までするので目が離せません。

Designed by Richard Gluckman, who designed the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the Guggenheim Museum in Berlin. The exhibition focuses on contemporary art, but covers everything from fashion to cutting-edge installations.

豚組は、とんかつやさんです。少し、六本木から離れて西麻布寄りです。美術館とギャラリーを一通り回った後にゆっくりでもしっかり食べたい時におすすめ◎ 古民家を改築したような内装と青と白を基調としたお皿や器も素敵です。

This is a Tonkatsu restaurant, a little closer to Nishi-Azabu than Roppongi. A good place to eat after visiting some art museums. The interior looks like a renovated folk house and the white and blue plates they serve the food on are quite beautiful.

代々木上原駅すぐ近くにある、ギャラリースペースが併設されたカジュアルなフレンチレストランです。 とても居心地の良い空間です。カクテルやワインの品揃えも良く、ノンアルコールのローズマリーレモネードをカクテルに変えて頂いたりとスタッフさんの心配りがあるお店です。 デンマークのVækst（コペンハーゲン MAPを見てね！）を思わせるような北欧の雰囲気があります。ランチもコースメニューなので予約必須です◎ 料理で使われっているお皿は、一品一品違った陶芸作家さんのものが使われています。陶芸好きには、堪りません。。。 アエルで形成されるアーティストは、メニューの左のページいっぱいに書かれており、食事が運ばれると料理とお皿のアーティストの説明をスタッフさんにして頂けます。

A casual French restaurant with a gallery space near Yoyogi-Uehara Station. It’s a very cozy space. The staff have an easy-going atmosphere and can take requests and substitutions. The design sense reminds me of Scandinavian establishments such as the Danish Vækst (see my Copenhagen map!). Lunch is a prefix course menu, and reservations are required. Each plate was produced by a different ceramics artist, with a provided list of artists and their location. Very engaging for any ceramics lovers. Depending on the person who serves you, they can be quite knowledgable about the ceramics and can provide additional information upon request.

Tips: ここは、表参道から千代田線で行けます。表参道から旅を初めても良し、代々木上原からゆっくりスタートしても楽しいと思います◎　渋谷からだとバスがありますが、少し遠く感じます。

The easiest way to get here is to take the Chiyoda line from Omotesando station. There is a bus from Shibuya, but takes a while to arrive.

建築は、現代美術家 杉本博司氏です。 表参道駅の近く。ビルの中に入っていくのに、苔庭アートがある店内は静かで空間も楽しむことができます。一品一品が美しく、こだわりが感じられます。デザートも美味しいので、食べすぎないように！

The architecture is by Hiroshi Sugimoto, a contemporary artist. Near Omotesando Station. As you enter the building, the interior and moss garden art creates an enjoyable atmosphere. Each item is beautiful and you can feel the commitment to detail. Desserts are also delicious, so make sure to leave room!

設計は、隈研吾氏です。庭園と美術館、また建築も加わり訪れるだけでアート作品を体験できます。 南青山から竹に覆われたエントランスを通り抜けると、とても静かな空間があります。美術館だけでなく、庭園にはカフェもあるのでリラックスするために行くのもいいですね。

Designed by Kengo Kuma. You can experience art works just by visiting the garden, museum, and architecture. Passing through the bamboo-covered entrance from Minami Aoyama, you will find it to be a very quiet space. In addition to the museum, there is a cafe in the garden.

バーのような店内で、カジュアルなお蕎麦屋さんです。なんで、お蕎麦屋さんや焼き鳥屋さんのだし巻き卵は美味しいのだろうか… かき揚げ、天ぷら蕎麦がおすすめ◎

It’s a casual soba restaurant in a bar-like store. The soba and yakitori omelet rolls are particularly delicious. Kakiage and tempura soba are recommended as toppings.

設計は、シンプリシティの緒方慎一郎氏です。店主は、「八雲茶寮」和菓子のＨＩＧＡＳＨＩＹＡを経て独立されました。 いくつもの茶葉から選べるお茶だけでなく、季節の和菓子も◎私の店内で食べれる和菓子のおすすめは、氷室豆腐です！和菓子だけでなく、日本茶や茶器を販売しており、お土産やささやかな差し入れにもいいと思います。 席数が少ないので、美術館を回る前に直接お店に予約を取っておいた方がいいかもしれません。

Designed by Shinichiro Ogata of “Simplicity”. Reservations are recommended as the number of guests they can accommodate is small. The owner used to work for “Yakumo Saryo” Japanese sweets HIGASHIYA, but became independent. Not only do they serve a variety of different teas, but also seasonal Japanese sweets. The recommended Japanese sweets to try is called Himuro Tofu!

実は、茶酒も沢山あります。抹茶ビールや山椒のカクテルなど、茶葉をお酒に漬け込んだここでしか体験できないお酒を楽しんでみてもいいかもしれません。

They also serve many alcoholic beverages made with tea. The matcha beer and Japanese pepper cocktail are particularly worth ordering.

建設は、ヘルツォーク＆ド・ムーロン氏です。菱形のガラスと格子構造がユニークにみえ、建築好きには絶対に立ち寄っていただきたいです！

The construction is by Herzog & de Mouron. The diamond-shaped glass and lattice structure is unique and worth a visit from any architecture lover.

It’s a more formal place that’s best for special occasions. The original coaster is designed by Ikko Tanaka and illustrated by Makoto Wada.

秘密基地のようなレストランです。実は、デンマークを思わせるような外観とお皿やドリンクでした。 紫蘇と山椒のカクテルなど、気になるカクテルが沢山あったので試していただきたいです。

一品一品を少しづつ楽しめる為、沢山頼んで楽しめるのも◎食べ物に合わせてお皿の色やテクスチャーも違ったもので出していただけるので、食器のデザインも堪能できます。（私もインスパイアされました！） 夜は、一人５００円のチャージがあります。

This restaraunt reminds me of a secret base. In fact, it felt like a warp tunnel to Copenhagen, with Danish aesthetics and plates and drinks. There were many interesting cocktails like made with shiso and Szechuan peppers.

It is tapas-style so you can enjoy each item little by little. At night, there is a cover charge of 500 yen per person.

上野桜木あたり(https://uenosakuragiatari.jp/about/) という複合施設の中にあるパン屋さんです。ショップやコミュニティースペースなどもあります。 ビールも飲めるレストランもあるので、お昼に来てもいいかもしれません。

西日暮里を歩き回る前に、ノルウェーのオスロでを焼きはじめたという店主のパンとコーヒーを！古民家を改装したお店からいい匂いが大通りまで匂ってきます。

Before walking around Nishinippori, eat some of the bread and coffee from this bakery. The owner started baking in Oslo, Norway!

古い喫茶店の外観がとても素敵です。 なんと言っても、プリンとあんみつは絶品です。。コーヒーとよく合うプリンのビターなキャラメルのソースが◎ 行列になってしまうので、朝一番に行くのがおすすめです。美術館の前に糖分でエネルギーチャージ！

The appearance of this old coffee shop is very nice. The bitter caramel sauce of pudding pairs well with coffee. It is recommended to go first in the morning as a long line usually forms.

本館の建築は、渡辺仁氏。日本伝統の木造建築を鉄筋コンクリートに置き換えた、和洋折衷建築です。 明治5年(1872年)に開館した日本で最古の博物館。日本を中心とする東洋の美術 作品と考古遺物を収蔵しています。 一日中入れてしまうので、時間を十分に取っておくといいと思います。ミュージアムストアも大きいので楽しめます。鈴木大拙館の建築で有名な谷口吉生氏が法隆寺宝物館を手掛けています。すぐ近くなので寄ってみるのをおすすめします。

The main building was built by Hitoshi Watanabe. It uses a Japanese-Western blended design that replaces the traditional Japanese wooden building with reinforced concrete. This is the oldest museum in Japan, having opened in 1872. It houses oriental works of art and archaeological relics, mainly from Japan. It takes many hourse to see everything, so I think it’s a good idea to set aside enough time. The museum store is also large and extensive. Also, Yoshio Taniguchi famous for the architecture of Suzuki Daisetsukan, is working on the Horyuji Treasures Museum nearby.

General: 1,000 yen, university students: 500 yen Free for people under 18 or over 70.

ギャラリーの展示やイベントも行われるカフェ、レストランです。２階建ての木造アパートメントを改装しています。 黒い壁にネオンサインが目印です。

Cafe and restaurant that holds gallery exhibitions and events. It takes place in a renovated two-story wooden apartment. The neon sign against the black wall is its trademark look.

設計は、伊東豊雄氏です。日が暮れて、ライトがこぼれる窓もエントランスのドアも「窓」と同じ形なので、窓という概念さえもない…? 淡いピンクの建物は、銀座の街で目を惹きます。

Designed by Toyo Ito. The windows seem to disappear when sunlight hits at the right angle at dusk. The pale pink building is rather eye-catching.

設計は、イタリア人建築家のレンゾ・ピアノ氏。半透明のガラスブロックに覆われた建物は、昼と夜とで雰囲気が変わります。 エルメス財団主催によるユニークな国内外のアーティストによる現代美術の展覧会を年に4回開催しています。

Designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano. The atmosphere of the building, which is covered with translucent glass blocks, changes between day and night. The Hermès Foundation holds four exhibitions of contemporary art by different Japanese and foreign artists.

建築は、国立美術館と同じく黒川紀章氏です。1972年に建てたメタボリズム建築の代表作となります。 実は、ひとつ一つのカプセルは取り外しが可能。古くなったら替えていく、建物が“新陳代謝”するというコンセプトだったそうです。 Sci-fiの世界を思わせる外観は、攻殻機動隊のような世界を思い浮かべてしまいます。中には、入れませんでしたが、お部屋を借りることも可能です。

The architecture is Kisho Kurokawa, the same as the National Museum of Art. This is a masterpiece of “metabolism architecture” built in 1972. This iconic building has inspired many science fiction works, including Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell. I didn’t go it inside, but apparently rooms are for rent. In fact, each capsule can be removed and replaced. It seems that the concept was that the building would be “metabolized” by replacing it when it became old.
